FAQ FOR TEACHER

The Kijang Economics and Econokids Competition, designed for primary, secondary schools and pre-university students, is a national platform that challenges participants in economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business. With the aim of igniting a competitive spirit, Kijang’s questions uniquely connect economic and financial concepts to both local and global contexts. Through multiple-choice tests, participants apply their knowledge to solve problems related to capital resources, financial instruments, and market analysis. 

Kijang Economics Competitions program in Malaysia comprises four stages;

  1. Kijang Economics Competitions
  2. Malaysian Economics Olympiad (MyEO)
  3. National Training Camps
  4. International Economics Olympiad (IEO)

Medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) in both Upper and Lower Secondary categories (students aged 13 to 18) at the Kijang Economics Competition will gain automatic eligibility to participate in MyEO. Invitations will be extended via email following the Kijang results announcement. From the MyEO participants, selected individuals will advance to the National Training Camp, where the top 5 students will be chosen to represent Malaysia in the prestigious International Economics Olympiad (IEO) at Hong Kong, China. 

If your school participated in the Kijang Economic & Econokids Competition in 2023 and you are still teaching at the same school, you do NOT need to create a new ContestHub account. You can use your existing account to register for the upcoming competition by login using the same username and password. Kindly update your profile account.

Each school is required to appoint at least one Teacher-In-Charge (TIC) responsible for handling registration, payment, and overseeing the competition day. The designated teacher must have a ContestHub account to ensure our secretary is informed that you are the TIC representing your school. To be officially recognized as the TIC, please reach out to our customer support team using the phone number provided in FAQs number 17.

For the Kijang Economic & Econokids Competition, our system allows up to three teachers in charge to be assigned. In cases where a school has more than three teachers, please feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance.

To register your students, you must create a new account on ContestHub. If you register your students using a previous ContestHub account, we will assume that the students are from your previous school, and we will also assume that you are still a teacher there.

We do not have any minimum or maximum requirements for registration, as we warmly welcome all schools to participate in our competition.

We are pleased to offer a 10% Early Bird discount, reducing the registration fee to RM36 per student. To avail of this discount, ensure you register and complete the payment before 15th March 2024. After this date, the fee will revert to the normal price of RM40 per student.

Kijang Economic & Econokids Competition Malaysia competitions are open to students of all levels, from primary school to secondary school. There are different categories based on the students’ grade level for international schools, allowing a wide range of students to participate.

To register for Kijang Economic & Econokids Competition 2024, students are required to inform their economics teacher or designate a teacher in charge. Students must provide essential details, including their full name, age, MyKID number or passport information, gender, and the competition fee of RM40 per student for registration purposes. The teacher login to www.contesthub.my to proceed with students registration.

Yes, non-Malaysian students can participate in Kijang Economic & Econokids Competitions. The competitions are inclusive and open to all students studying in Malaysia, regardless of their nationality.

Yes, Kijang Economic & Econokids Competition Malaysia provides official study materials and practice papers that can help students prepare for the competitions. These materials are designed to challenge students and improve their problem-solving abilities. For access to our past year questions, you may visit our online bookshop, at shop.ardentedu.com.

The Kijang Economics and Econokids is conducted entirely online, and all participating students are required to utilize a tablet, computer, or laptop with a stable internet connection throughout the competition.

Yes, there is a registration fee of RM40.00 per student to participate in Kijang Economic & Econokids Competition Malaysia competitions. The payment must be handed to the teacher in charge. However, the payment procedure may vary based on the registration process set by the teacher in charge at each respective school.

Yes, Kijang Economic & Econokids Competition Malaysia awards certificates of participation to all students who take part in our competition. We also recognize top-performing students with prizes categorized as Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention and Certificate Of Participation based on their marks.

The Kijang Economics and Econokids offers two registration options. In the first option, students can register under their school, but it requires the appointment of a designated teacher to oversee and manage their participation. The registration fee for this option is RM40 per student. Alternatively, the second option allows students to register as individual candidates. In this case, students can register independently, and the registration fee is RM60 per student.
